Police nab brothers
with drugs, gun

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Police intelligence operatives arrested two brothers Saturday in Victorias City, Negros Occidental, for violation of RA 9165, the Comprehensive Drug Act of 2002, and the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Armed with a search warrant issued by Silay Regional Trial Court Judge Dyna-Doll Trocio, a team of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office intelligence operatives, assisted by local policemen, swooped down on the house of Glenn Quiamco at Canetown Subdivision, Brgy. 19-A, Victorias City.

SPO1 Junji Liba, a member of the NOPPO raiding team, yesterday said the raid and search at Quiamco residence, that lasted for more than three hours, yielded two big sachets and five more sachets of suspected shabu, estimated to have a market value of about P80,000, and a snub-nosed .38 caliber revolver with four live ammunition.

Liba said Quiamco was not present at his residence during the raid. However, his two brothers, Ricardo and Joemarie, were arrested for illegal possession of drugs and firearms, he added.

The arrested Quiamco brothers are now detained at the Victorias City Police Station Jail, pending the filing of charges against them.*GPB
