Guv to appeal ruling of CSC
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday said an appeal will be filed to the reduction by Civil Service Commission of his order dismissing Dr. Ma. Estrella Ledesma as chief of the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City to three months suspension.

The governor said he will discuss the matter with lawyers of the Capitol.

On February 27 this year, the CSC partly granted Ledesma’s appeal by modifying the decision of the governor to a lesser offense of simple misconduct and three months suspension, she said on Friday.

In April last year, Marañon dismissed Ledesma from the service after finding her guilty of the offense of grave misconduct.

Ledesma was administratively charged with grave misconduct originating from a complaint filed by Gemma Sagansay, a TLJPH employee, in connection with the way Ledesma treated her 2-year-old son at the Dr. Jose C. Locsin Memorial Provincial Hospital in Silay City on July 1, 2005.*CPG
