The 303rd Infantry Brigade in Negros Occidental and the 79th Infantry Battalion in Negros Oriental have been adjudged the “best Army units’” of the 3rd Infantry Division in Negros and Panay island, for 2011.
The 302nd Infantry Brigade will also receive a citation from the Philippine Army, in recognition of its search and rescue, as well as relief operations, when Typhoon Sendong and the powerful earthquake hit Negros Oriental in December last year, and February this year, respectively.
Col. Francisco Patrimonio, 302nd IB commander, will receive the unit citation award from AFP chief General Jessie Dellosa and Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Bautista on March 22, that also coincides with the 115th founding anniversary of the Philippine Army.
Meanwhile, Col. Jon Ayeng, deputy commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade, yesterday received the Army command plaque from Major General Jose Mabanta, 3ID commanding general, after a military briefing at Camp Macario Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz.
The 303rd IB headed by Colonel Oscar Lactao and the 79th IB commanded by Lt. Co. Marion Sison, bested other infantry brigades and battalions of 3ID, in TRIAD operations, that involve the synchronized conduct of combat, intelligence and civil military operations, and administrative functions.* GPB back
