Deadline for filing of COCs
for CENECO polls March 31

The deadline for the filing of Certificate of Candidacy for the March 31 election for the Board of Directors in the three districts of Central Negros Electric Cooperative is at 5 p.m. today, Roel Venus, CENECO Consumers Services Division Chief, said yesterday.

Today is also the deadline for inclusion and exclusion of voters.

Two candidates have filed their COC’s as of yesterday, but Venus said it is up to the screening committee to determine whether they are qualified to run or not.

Venus said candidates should file their COC’s at his office since he has to ensure that they have completed their requirements.

The screening committee is composed of department managers with Edwin Rio, Institutional Services Department manager, as chairman, and Jesus Amado Dormido, Engineering Department manager, and Ioen Udani, Finance manager, as members.

This year, elections for the Board of Directors will be held in Districts II, III and 7.

District II covers Bacolod south (Barangays Punta-Taytay, Sum-ag, Pahanocoy, Cabug, Tangub, Alijis, Felisa, Handumanan and Taculing); District III – Bacolod central (Barangays 17 to 33 and 40 to 42; and District 7 – Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto.

The National Electrification Administration has issued a memorandum requiring candidates to have attended the annual general membership assembly two times in the last five years. This additional requirement was discussed during the last AGMA and was published in the newspapers.

The incumbent Directors of District II are CENECO president Arnel Lapore, District III - Zenaida Lacson and District 7- Roberto Montelibano.*CGS
