Sixty out-of-school youths, age 14 to 16, are expected to participate in the three-day Youth Leadership Summit initiated by the Oriental Negros Children’s Advocacy, April 25 to 27, in Dumaguete City.
The activity, with the theme “Sharing Our Planet: Deforestation”, aims to develop leadership skills, team building, and role playing through exposures in exercises and group activities, Marietta Jambora, ONCAN president, said.
The YLS is also part of the “Bayanihan Para sa Kabataan” project that involves stakeholders consistent in promoting the spirit of “bayanihan,” she added.
Participants will be taught to address issues on environment protection, insurgency, drug abuse prevention, human rights, and spiritual values, she said.*PIA
