NEW CAIDSTOG HEAD ORDERED:
Go after big-time pushers

Supt. Santiago Rapiz, newly-designated head of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, was ordered to run after big-time drug pushers, by Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, Bacolod City Police director.

De la Paz said he expects Rapiz to continue the performance of Senior Insp. Joemarie Occeño, former CAIDSTOG head, who was transferred to Antique province Monday.

Rapiz vowed to improve the anti-illegal drugs campaign in Bacolod City, adding that while there will be no reorganization at CAIDSTOG yet, the performances of the personnel will be assessed, and adjustments will be made, if necessary.

He also appealed for cooperation and teamwork from personnel of the CAIDSTOG so they could perform well.*APN

Bacoleña sues
American husband

A Bacolod City resident has filed charges for violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children Act against her American husband at the City Prosecutor’s Office recently.

The complainant, whose name is being withheld by the DAILY STAR, claimed that her husband banged her head on the wall and also hurt their daughter.

She narrated that she and her husband, whose name is also being withheld, lived in her parents’ house in Bacolod, from January 2010 until June 2011.

She said they transferred to another house because her brother had filed complaints for physical injuries and oral defamation against her husband. Then her husband went to Mindanao to put up a business, she also said.

Her husband told her that he will not send money yet because he does not have any income, but promised to do so once he gets his share from the business.

Months passed, but her husband never sent her financial support. Instead, the complainant claimed she received several text messages from him insisting that her brother drop the criminal complaints.*APN
