Commuters passing through the highway in the second district of Negros Occidental will get relief in July or August when concreting work is completed, Rep. Alfredo Marañon III (Neg. Occ., 2nd District) said yesterday.
The roads from the crossing of Cadiz City to Sagay City are either heavily cracked, dug up or in various stages of repair.
The congressman said repair of the roads, that have a six-month contract for completion, cost close to P200 million.
The steel works for the new Himogaan bridge has also began and is expected to be completed in 18 months or by August 2013, the solon added.
The new bridge and road that will cut travel time to Sagay City proper by 2.15 kilometers, Gov. Alfredo Maranon Jr. said earlier.
The bridge will be an alternative to the bridge in Fabrica, Sagay, that is old and does not have the capacity to carry heavy cargo trucks, he said.*CPG back
