Brownout hits 4 towns
BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

A trip on the main line of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines resulted in the 42-minute power interruption that hit parts of Negros Oriental Thursday.

From 12:12 p.m. to 12:54 p.m., the towns of Bacong, Dauin, Zamboanguita and Siaton were without power, the NGCP reported.

These areas are covered by the Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative 2.

Power was restored at 12:54 p.m. Thursday after the NGCP shut down the Bacong-Siaton 69kV transmission line, to do emergency repairs in one of the structures at Sitio 44, Siaton, Elmer Cruz, NGCP Corporate Communications officer, said.

Noreco sources l confirmed that the power outage was due to NGCP’s emergency power shutdown, to repair a damaged cross-arm that supports their Bacong to Siaton sub-transmission line.*JFP
