Bacollywood workshop
film screening May 5

The screening of the movies made by the film production class of the Bacollywood workshop will be held May 5, starting 8 a.m., at the Gallery Orange in Mandalagan, Bacolod City, a press release from organizers said.

This as almost a hundred workshop participants will graduate from the Bacollywood creative courses they took, 3 p.m. on Saturday, at the Negros Museum.

The summer workshop on film and acting that started April 16 was initiated by the Produksyon Tramontina Inc. and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the press release added.*

‘Dulhog' barter at Museum

“Dulhog” or the traditional barter system of Ati villages in Isabela and Cadiz, Negros Occidental, will be held at the Negros Museum in Bacolod City, tomorrow, a press release from organizers said.

Handicrafts and products made by guests from the Ati villages can be bought during the activity, that will include a short talk and presentation on the indigenous peoples, the press release said.

The Atis, who are hunter-gatherers and referred to as ‘Negritos', represent the most ancient civilization of the Philippines. With an uninterrupted presence going back more than 30,000 years ago, small pockets of the ethnic groups, among them the Ati, Eata and Ayta of the Western Visayas and the Batak of Palawan, are scattered all over the archipelago today, the press release said.
