The Lopue's Table Tennis Association headed by Leonito Lopue will hold its annual national table tennis championships on May 4 to 6 at Lopue's San Sebastian Department Store Annex Building, a press release from the group said.
The tournament will feature top players from all over the country including present and former national team members, who will compete in three events, the men's team, women's team and the 50-years-old and above category.
Teams that have confirmed their participation are NCAA champion San Beda College, Table Tennis Association of North District Manila (TATAND), Starpaper (Manila), Iloilo City, Hua Ching Foundation (Cebu), Imperium-Donic (Manila), Metropolitan Table Tennis Association (METTA-Manila), Team Justin of Valenzuela City, College of St. Benilde/Green Paddle (Manila), UNO-R, AD Marketing (Bacolod) and host LOPTTA, the press release said.
Meanwhile, the Table Tennis Association of the Philippines, headed Ting Ledesma, in cooperation with LOPTTA, will conduct a free table tennis seminar for umpires on May 3 at the LOPTTA Center.
Among those expected to assist in the seminar is LOPTTA international umpire GY Cañonero. The center is also holding a free summer table tennis clinic where participants are taught the fundamentals of table tennis, the press release said.*
