Lightning kills two
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Lightning killed a sugarcane worker and a driver in Barangay Mabini, Cadiz City, shortly after 3 p.m. yesterday, Cadiz Mayor Patrick Escalante said.

Killed was Joemarie Laniohan, 27, and Harold Caña, 24, he said.

Laniohan was on top of a sugarcane truck loaded with cane when he was hit by lightning that caused his instantaneous death, the mayor said.

Caña, the driver, who was inside the vehicle was also hit by the lighting and was rushed to the Cadiz clinic for medical assistance but did not make it, the mayor added.*CPG
