25 trainers attend
Tesda course

BY RENE GENOVE

Twenty-five trainers of the technical-vocational education and training institutions in Negros Oriental are undergoing a methodology course at the STI Dumaguete City until May 17.

The program, that started April 23, aims to certify the current pool of technical trainers-assessors to ensure their competence to trade qualifications, training delivery and assessment methodologies, a press release said.

The three-week training will focus on how to plan training sessions; facilitate learning session; utilize electronics media in facilitating training; conduct competency assessment; maintain training facilities; and on how to supervise work-based learning.

The competencies gained by the trainers will help them implement the program using the competency-based training approach; and allow them to teach the “With Training Regulations” registered programs, it added.

The facilitators are Adolfo Alcoseba Jr., senior specialist of the Regional Training Center of TESDA in Cebu City; Elsa Apiag, and Jose Chiquito Mahinay, both vocational instructors of the Lazi National Agricultural School in Siquijor.*RG
