Sports confederation
organized in Neg. Or.
BY RENE GENOVE

The Negros Oriental Sports Confederation was organized recently to develop the sports culture and associations in the province.

The confederation was formed on recommendation of Dominador Dumalag Jr., who had been tasked by Gov. Roel Degamo, to craft a comprehensive action plan for NOSDEP.

NORSPORTS is composed of leaders of sports groups like basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball, running, swimming, karatedo and taekwondo. It aims to expand the Negros Oriental Sports Development Program, through more sports activities that will develop the skills of local athletes.

Its first sports activity, the Governor’s Cup, is set on May 5, and is open to athletes from all towns and cities of the province. The event is expected to prepare the local talents, who will participate in the Philippine National Games May 26 to June 3.

The competition on Saturday will also serve as venue where sports leaders can pick athletes who will form the core team of the province to compete in the PNG.*RG
