Stallions vs. MCS
in Jr. PBA opener

Barako Bulls - Stallions Eroreco will face the Meralco Volts -Mansilingan Christian Academy tomorrow in the first game of the 2012 Coca Cola PBA Young Stars Basketball Tournament at the West Negros University Gym.

The tussle between the two teams will follow the 8:30 opening ceremony with Bacolod City Vice Mayor Thaddy Sayson and Councilor Al Victor Espino as guests, SBP Provincial Director Tony Agustin said.

In the second game, it will be an all-SJI battle as Talk N Text St. John’s Institute A will be challenged by its sister team, Petron Blaze St. John’s Institute B as both teams are grouped in Bracket B.

Host West Negros University, donning the Ginebra San Miguel jersey, will clash against Air 21 University of ST. La Salle-IS in the third game, while Alaska Aces – UNO-R will try to score its first win against Rain or Shine – Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

The two other teams joining in the tournament, the B-Meg Llamados St. Joseph School – La Salle and Powerade Coca Cola Bacolod Christian College will play against their respective rivals on Sunday.

Organized to tap young basketball talents in the country, each team joining the tournament is composed of 12 players, aged 13, 14, 15, and 16.

Winner in the provincial tournament will compete against the champions from Iloilo and Cebu for the regional finals on May 19 and 20, while the national finals among the top teams from the region will be on May 27 to June 1 in Metro Manila.*NAB
