NORSU grad 10th in
electricians exam

Two graduates of the Negros Oriental State University have passed the Electrical Engineer Licensure Examination given in Manila recently, giving the school a passing rate of 67 percent.

The passers are Mario Sim Erosedo, of Hinobaan, Negros Occidental, and Reinhold Jek Ysic Abing, of San Juan, Siquijor. The two also hurdled the Registered Master Electrician Examination, with Erosedo placing 10th with a rating of 81 percent.

Dr. Henry Sojor, NORSU president, said the national passing percentage for EELE is 43.87 percent.

Meanwhile, a graduate of Information Technology of Silliman University was adjudged one of Ten Outstanding Students of Region 7, a press release from the school said.

Athena Gene Duran was selected with nine others from the 20 regional finalists in the search held at the Negros Oriental Convention Center, on May 1.

She is the chair of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Dumaguete, graduated cum laude, and was the recipient of the University Leadership Award, the press release added.*RG
