Youth leaders attend gab
on sustainable dev’t

Around 100 youth leaders of the cities of Bago and La Carlota in Negros Occidental attended an orientation for the program called “Youth Commitment for Sustainable Development”, of the Institute for Negros Development of the University of St. La Salle at the Bago City College audiovisual room, a press release from the school said.

The participants were Sangguniang Kabataan chairpersons and kagawads, officers of the Supreme Student Government of various public and private high schools and colleges, and parish youth leaders.

YCSD is a youth leadership and empowerment program that seeks to provide 50 youths of the two cities with learning and livelihood opportunities, the press release said.

It complements the Eco-Tourism Development Plan of Guintubdan, and the Rafael Salas Nature Tourism and Recreational Zone in Bago, the press release added.*

Art workshop set May 7

Art enthusiasts and aspiring artists age six years old and above are encouraged to join the creative art workshops of Gallery Orange from May 7 to June 2, at Annex Bldg., Lopue’s Mandalalgan, in Bacolod City, a press release from the gallery said.

Courses offered are basic drawing, sketching, printmaking, cartooning, comic strip, pastel, watercolor, terracotta or clay modeling, functional sculpture, art installation, and painting using oil, acrylic or mixed media, the press release also said.

It does not say, however, if participants will be charged for the workshop, so interested parties may contact the gallery at (034) 709-0604 or 0999-9961272, the press release added.*
