The free medical and dental civic action program services of the Army’s 302nd Brigade recently benefited 446 residents in Barangay Planas, Guihungan City.
The MEDCAP included medical and dental services, eye consultation, blood pressure examination, circumcision, ear piercing, free haircut, and therapeutic massage for residents, a press release from the Brigade said.
The barangay was severely affected by the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that struck the 1st district of Negros Oriental and nearby areas on February 6.
Of the beneficiaries, 214 availed of medical consultations, 30 dental checkups and tooth extraction, 11 free haircut, 40 circumcision, 79 eye check-ups, two minor surgeries, nine of massages, and 61 had their ears pierced, the press release also said.
The medical team also distributed free medicines, while the Office of 1st District Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong gave toys and candies to the children.
The press release said the involvement of various stakeholders, consistent with the spirit of “bayanihan” to address the health concerns of the Negrenses, was a manifestation of commitment and dedication by peace-loving citizens to serve the needy.*RG
