Saratan joins panel
of ADB-PPP forum

Talisay City Mayor Eric Saratan, was a panelist in a seminar at the Philippine Corporate and Investment Pavilion, of the Philippine Hosting of the 45th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank recently, a press release from Talisay said.

The event was convened by the Public-Private Partnership Center and Philippines Constructors Association, at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

The only local chief executive in the said forum, Saratan paneled in the discussion with the theme “Build to Conserve: PPPs as Driver of Heritage Tourism”, which focused on the role of Public Private Partnerships in pushing tourism, the press release said.

The session also discussed the initiatives of conserving natural and cultural heritage sites, emerging and potential infrastructure projects that will promote tourism, as well as share experiences and good practices on working with government on PPPs.

Other panelists in the discussion were Manila Historical and Heritage Commission Chair Gemma Cruz-Araneta, Intramuros Administrator Jose Capistrano, Jr., Department of Public Works and Highways Undersecretary Rafael Yabut, Singapore’s Capital Projects and Infrastructure Leader Mark Rathbone, Escuela Taller Intramuros Project Director Michael Manalo, and Urban Planner and Designer Paulo Alcazaren. The moderator was broadcast journalist David Celdran.

This year’s annual meeting was attended by senior government officials, finance and economic planning ministers, representatives of the multilateral development bank community, investment bankers, representatives of nongovernment organizations, leaders of business communities and members of the media, the press release said.*
