New SB of
Ayungon takes oath

The new member of the Sangguniang Bayan in Ayungon town, Negros Oriental, took his oath of office before Gov. Roel Degamo yesterday at the Provincial Capitol.

Councilor Elsid Salimbagat took the place of his father, Editho, who died in January.

Mayor Edsel Enardecido, Vice Mayor Erwin Agustino, and the family of Salimbagat witnessed the oath-taking.

Under the law, the governor has the authority to swear in new members of a local legislative body after a consensus has been reached and approved by the group.

Meanwhile, Ayungon officials thanked Degamo for turning over to the town a dump truck that just needs minor repair to be operational, and be useful in implementing projects of the barangays.*
