A consultancy firm hired by the Negros Occidental provincial government to study the reorganization of provincial government personnel, has recommend the merger of some offices, and additional positions in some departments.
Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinogan said yesterday that CPRM Consultants Inc. had submitted its findings to Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and it is now being reviewed by the Committee on Reorganization he created.
The Committee on Reorganization is headed by Board Member Miller Serondo with Pinongan, Assistant Provincial Legal Officer Mary Ann Manayon Lamis, Provincial Budget Officer Percival Salado Jr. and General Services Officer Lucille Pines as members, with Roy Balicas as consultant.
Among the CPRM’s recommendations is the merger of several divisions under the governor’s office, Pinongan said.
It recommends the merger of the Public Information Office with the Provincial Library, and the Public Affairs, Sports and Youth Development and Panaad offices as another unit, he said.
The CPRM also recommended the transfer of the maintenance division from the General Services Office to the Provincial Engineer’s Office, he said.
Additional positions were also recommended in offices that have been strengthened, such as the Provincial Veterinarian’s Office, he added.
These are not final, as the governor has not agreed to them yet and the CPRM findings are under validation, Pinongan said.*CPG back
