Roland Ramos, chief of the Land Transportation Office of Dumaguete, has resigned as a member of the city Traffic Management Council, claiming that to stay will be inutile, as all his recommendations to decongest traffic have been disregarded.
He was referring to his proposal to distribute 2,500 motorcabs in various zones of the city, the first half to ply the commercial district, and the other units to operate in the outskirts Dumaguete.
Another is the conduct of a dry-run for a traffic scheme at Real Street, where motorcabs will not be allowed to operate.
His recommendation, however, were held in abeyance since they were presented September last year, prompting him to believe that his ideas are no longer needed by the Council.
Ramos said Mayor Manuel Sagarbarria can always find his replacement.*JG
