Police release sketches
of taxi driver's robbers

The Bacolod City Police released yesterday the facial sketches of the man and woman who robbed a driver and used his taxi as get- away vehicle on Tuesday in Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City.

Based on the sketch drawn by the artist of the National Bureau of Investigation, the man is between 40 to 45 years-old, about 5 feet and 5 inches tall to 5 feet and 7 inches, at least 140 to 150 lbs in weight, with fair complexion.

Complainant Gelbert Gallego, 46, of Bangga Yap in Brgy. Singcang-Airport and employed by RG Taxi, said the man was wearing a brown T-shirt, black jacket and denim pants, was speaking in Ilonggo but with a Cebuano accent, and was of the rugged type.

The woman, is about 40 to 45 years old, at least 5 feet and 4 inches tall and more or less 110 lbs in weight, and also spoke in Ilonggo with a Cebuano accent, and was wearing a white T-shirt.

City Police Director, Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said that with the release of their facial sketches they hope that the two will be arrested soon.

Gallego said the suspects rode his taxi in front of the Rusi motorcycle store, adding that the man then strangled him while the companion frisked his pockets. He said the suspects took his P1,500 cash and used the taxi its get away.

Station 8 policemen led by Senior Insp. Jerick Filosofo conducted a hot pursuit operation and later recovered the taxi in Brgy. Sampinit, Bago City, Negros Occidental.*APN
