A night of beauty queens

Excitement could be felt in the air as the Binibining Pilipinas 2012 held the much-awaited coronation night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, recently. That night, only five of the 35 lovely candidates emerged as winners.

They were Binibining Pilipinas 2012-Universe Janine Tugonon; Binibining Pilipinas 2012-International Nicole Schmitz; Binibining Pilipinas 2012-Tourism Queen International Katrina Dimaranan; Binibining Pilipinas 2012 1st runner-up Elaine Moll; and 2nd runner-up Annalie Forbes. These gorgeous ladies will represent the Philippines in the international beauty competitions that correspond to their titles. The event was hosted by Xian Lim, Iza Calzado, Venus Raj and Georgina Wilson.

Back here in Negros Occidental, the much-awaited Isabela town fiesta unfolded. Her Majesty Queen Isabela Garcia Lim and consort Enzo Suatengco added to the regality of the festivities. Isabela is the granddaughter of the late General Cesar Garcia Sr. and well-loved matriarch Doña Petronila Montilla Peña vda. de Garcia. The queen who is the daughter of George and Sabrina Garcia-Lim, was Isabela because of Doña Petronila’s great love for her town.

The consort, on the other hand, is the son of Pulupandan Vice Mayor Antonio and Sylvia Suatengco. Guests of honor during the coronation night included Negros Occidental Vice Governor Lim-ao and Dolly Alvarez, Board Member Quito and Irene Montilla, and La Castellana Vice Mayor Chad Feria.*
