Silay gives wheelchairs

The Silay City government has given 44 wheelchairs to poor and physically handicapped residents of Silay City from May 5, 2001 to April 18, 2012, Outreach Communication and Research Services Head, Lino Quevenco said in a press release.

The city is also continuously giving canes, walking aids and crutches to the poor and physically disabled residents through the Outreach Communication and Research Services under the Project Compassion or PROCOM. Thirty percent of the recipients of this project are the youths and seventy percent are senior citizens, the press release said.

Since 2011, city has given seventeen canes, five walking aids, and five crutches to the recipients, the press release added.*
