Two celebrations

BUDDAI

May 13 was a double celebration: the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima, and Mothers’ Day.

Our Lady of Fatima is our heavenly mother, who is so concerned for us, her children, that she had to appear several times to make us go back to God. That’s because mankind has seemed to forget God. This is what happened in Fatima on May 13, 1917. Our Lady of Fatima pray for us.

My balikbayan friends from London treated me to lunch because they said that I’m a mother, grandmother and nanay to my apos, or grandchildren. So off we went to L’Fisher for a mouthwatering lunch. Melodious music from the lobby welcomed us, and there were many familiar faces there with their families.

One long table at the Ricardo I was occupied by the familia Lacson, siblings of the late Tita Luz Datu Lacson, who were enjoying their lunch and exchanging pleasantries. My camera went kaput for a while, but thanks to helpful front desk friends, Joyce Bayoneta and Ferdinand San Felix, it was immediately fixed.

After lunch, we proceeded to Calea and there I met newlywed doctors Celeste and Vic Pramio Jr. Celeste is the daughter of Joe and Lily Uy Valencia. The newlyweds are into internal medicine. They will open their clinic in Bacolod soon.

Remember: To wake up happy, laugh out loud, hum a tune, whisper a prayer, and savor a memory. Life is like a scoop of ice cream, enjoy it before it melts.*
