The six-month training for 142 candidate soldiers, who will be deployed in Western Visayas, started Tuesday at Camp Macario Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz.
Maj. Enrico Gil Ileto, 3rd Infantry Division spokesman, yesterday said the 142 new soldiers will undergo a rigid Candidate Soldier Course and Jungle Warfare Mountain Operation Course, which will mold them to be physically fit, well-disciplined and properly motivated to fill-in the enlisted rank requirements of the Philippine Army.
Ileto said female candidate soldiers are also undergoing the same selection process at 3ID, and will be sent to Camp O’Donel in Tarlac, for their training.
Ileto said it is equally important for themto learn that the Army now adheres to the rule of law, the international humanitarian law, human rights, excellence and good governance.
Ninety-six other newly-recruited soldiers are scheduled to graduate from a six-month training at Camp Macario Peralta by the end of this month.*GPB back
