Two shot dead in Negros
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Two men were shot dead on Monday and Tuesday in Victorias City and Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, police records show.

Danilo Ruiz, 52, succumbed to a gunshot wound in the back from an unidentified gunman on Tuesday in Brgy. Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto, the police reported.

The fatality in the shooting incident in Victorias City, was identified by the police as Rodney Manapo, 47.

Supt. Alexander Munoz, Victorias police chief, said that the killing of Manapo may have been triggered by a conflict with his neighbor, over the boundary of the land they are tilling.

The body of Manapo, that bore gunshot wounds, was found Monday in a makeshift nipa hut in the place.

Meanwhile, three wanted persons were arrested by the police in cities of Bago and Kabankalan, Negros Occidental.

Nabbed by virtue of arrest warrants for illegal possession of firearms, reckless imprudence resulting to serious physical injuries, homicide and attempted homicide, respectively, were Leo Sapar, Edwin Gargar and Michael Padaon.

Bago Judge Hermenigildo Octaviano has recommended P90,000 bail for Sapar, and P40,000 for Gargar for homicide charges, police records also show.

Octaviano also recommended bail of P24,000 for Padaon, who is facing charges for attempted homicide.*GPB
