The fare for motorcabs for hire in Dumaguete City was rolled back to P8.30 from the P9 per head within the city limits.

Vice Mayor Alan Gel Cordova said that under the automatic adjustment scheme of fare rates in Dumaguete, a corresponding increase or decrease is implemented vis-à-vis existing fuel prices.

The fare rate was reduced because premium gasoline is currently priced below P60 per liter, he added.

Cordova said a certification on the fare rollback will be submitted by the Sangguniang Panlungsod to the City Mayor’s Office today.*JG
