UNO-R exhibit in mall

The show that opened Monday is part of the culminating activities of the first university in Negros Occidental in celebrating its 50th year as a Recollect institution in the province, the press release said.

Rev. Fr. Cornelio Moral, chair of the UNO-R@50 Executive Committee, led the ribbon-cutting, assisted by Fr. Constantino Real, incoming Prior of the Recoletos de Bacolod; Fr. Joseph Dexter Palagtiosa, Talisay parish priest; Bro. Jaazeal Jakosalem; and the deans of the UNO-R colleges, the press release said.

UNO-R is calling its alumni to join the activities for the culmination, like the thanksgiving masses; awarding of pioneer alumni and employees; basketball game between religious and employees; concert with the Air Band; conferment of the Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) to Rufus Rodriguez; awards night for distinguished alumni, religious, priests and benefactors; and a disco and fireworks display, the press release added.*

in Bacolod today

Kapuso Network talents Richard Gutierrez, Carla Abellana and Sarah Lahbati will be in Brgy. 6, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, at 2 p.m. today, and then at SM City Bacolod for a mall show at 5 p.m., a press release from the station said.

The promo tour is for the GMA Telebabad program titled “Makapiling Kang Muli” that will air starting next month and will star the three, together with Mark Anthony Fernandez, TJ Trinidad, Dominic Roco, and Philip Salvador, the press release also said.

The cast will also be in Brgy. San Juan in Molo, and Brgy. Bolilao in Mandurriao, both in Iloilo, tomorrow for a “Kapuso Barangayan” at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively. Fans can also see their favorite stars during a mall show at the elevated parking lot of SM City Iloilo at 5 p.m., the press release said.

The highlights of the promo tour can be seen in “Let’s Fiesta TV Special” on May 27 that will air via the network’s regional stations in Cebu, Davao , Iloilo , Dagupan, CDO, GenSan, Naga, and Bacolod, the press release added.*

Job Mayo IV and Anica Ramos will exchange marriage vows on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Mary The Queen Parish Church, Madison St., Greenhils, San Juan City.

Job is the son of the late Gen. Job A. Mayo Jr. and Cielito C. Relativo while Anica is the daughter of Alexander K. Ramos and Anne Marie R. Ramos and the granddaughter of the late Baldomejo Rio Jr. and his wife the former Teresita Lagtapon.

Tourism study set

A study survey on the “Accommodation Capacity of Tourism Development Areas”, as identified in the National Tourism Development Plan, will be conducted in Bacolod by the Department of Tourism Region 6 and the Bacolod City Tourism Office, May 21 to 24, a press release from the BCTO said.

Imogene Kana-an, city tourism officer, said the activity is expected to provide statistical data on room capacity, employment and future investments in the accommodation sector to guide policymakers, businesses and investors in making informed and relevant decisions, the press release also said.

Members of the DOT-6 staff who will be in Bacolod are Ruth Tizon and Marie Jean Cortum, and they will be assisted by Kana-an, who is requesting all city tourism establishments to extend necessary courtesies and help to them, the press release added.*
