Clan reunion

buddai

The 12th Miraflores–Marañon clan reunion was held at Rainbow Star Village, Dalawidaw Farm, in Brgy. Enclaro, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, recently.

The event was initiated by clan member Ruth Tirol Juntilla, owner of the Seawind Hotel in Boracay, and supported by other relatives led by Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., but unfortunately, Gov. Freddie and Risa Hontiveros were not able to join the celebration and Dr. Marilen Marañon, daughter E-day and sister Sonia Sarrosa represented them.

The clan members present were the Marañon, Miraflores, Abetos, Jesena Terol, Corteza and Hontiveros families. Some heared mass at 9 a.m. as it was a fiesta celebration, then it was off to Dalawidaw Farm for an early merienda, with the host serving all native delicacies of which “Linupak nga Saging” was a hit.

The event coincided with the blessing of the “Payag ni Goring”, where his memorabilia are displayed.

Then followed a short ride to the Negros Occidental School of Fisheries, where lunch was ready when we arrived, and a short program and a song followed. Members of the steering committee of the affair were Pons and Leyva Manayon, Beyong Marañon, Butch Gerasmo, Gilbert and May Marañon, and Beebet Abeto.

The 13th Marañon - Miraflores reunion will be held in Davao City.

Remember: The hands of God draw you close, hold you near and embrace you forever. May your heart be assured today of how very precious you are to Him.*
