The Board of Regents of the Negros Oriental State University issued a recommendation to Silliman University president Ben Malayang, and NORSU president Henry Sojor, to head the search committee tasked to accept applications for the NORSU presidency.

A press release from the school said that Sojor will step down at the end of his term on August 2, and will help in the nationwide search for his successor. Sojor said that he will actively join in the vetting process, to ensure that the next NORSU president shares his vision and mission for the state university.

Sojor said he may teach in private universities or join politics once he leaves his post, the press release added.*
