Incentives ready for
Palaro medalists

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said the cash incentive for the medalists in the 2012 Palarong Pambansa will be released soon, adding that Negros Occidental’s chance of hosting the games is good.

“There is a big chance of winning the bid, and small chance of losing,” the governor said.

While he was cheering on the Western Visayas contingent to wrest the overall championship from the National Capital Region before the games, Marañon said he was contented with the first runner-up finish for Region VI.

Thunder put Lakers on brink

Kevin Durant hit the go-ahead three pointer with 13 seconds left to lift the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 103-100 win over Los Angeles to put the Lakers on the brink of elimination.

With the score tied 98-98 Durant hit a 25-foot jumper over Lakers Metta World Peace, capping a fourth quarter rally for the Thunder who trailed for much of Game 4.

"We just kept believing and helping each other out on defence. Everybody chipped in," said Durant.
