Golez denies involvement
in Koko-Jewel split

BY CARLA GOMEZ

Bacolod Rep. Anthony Golez yesterday categorically denied having anything to do with the break-up of the relationship between Senator Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel and his wife Jewel May Lobaton.

Golez was reacting to insinuations in a national newspaper linking him to Jewel May and the break-up.

“Let's respect the privacy of the two, who are undergoing a difficult time. Let's pray for them and wish them the very best as they go on their separate ways," Golez said.

Golez said what he has been doing is working with Jewel May in the implementation of common advocacies.

“We have been implementing different advocacies that are very important to the people of Bacolod, most especially the children and the needy," he said.

Senator Pimentel on Wednesday issued an official statement saying "I confirm my separation from my wife of close to 12 years, Jewel May Lobaton. We have been living separately since November 2011."

He said he tried his best to resolve his difference with his wife for the sake of their two boys but failed to do so.*CPG
