2-year-old drowns in Valladolid

The death of a two-year old girl in Valladolid, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, was blamed by her mother on a “tamawo (spirit).”

The victim, identified as Judy Paiman,2, died of drowning, initial investigations of the Valladolid police showed.

Mary Joy Paiman, her mother, said in an interview with ABS-CBN, said that she is not inclined to believe that her daughter died of drowning.

The victim was reportedly playing in a pail, that was only half-filled with water, in their bathroom, when the incident took place.

A death certificate issued to the victim, indicated that she died of drowning.

Paiman, however, said she believes that her daughter was taken by the “tamawo”. * GPB
