Robbers snatch
payroll for Ibañez farm

BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Two men riding on a motorcycle robbed a caretaker of a farm owned by Negros Occidental Board Member Melvin Ibañez and took P143,000 in payroll money at around 11:20 a.m. Saturday at Hilado Street, Bacolod City.

Station 2 chief, Senior Insp. Robert Dejucos, identified the victim as Raul Española, 38, of Brgy. 4, Isabela town, Negros Occidental.

Española told the police that he was riding on a trisikad after withdrawing the money from the bank when the two suspects blocked his way at Hilado Street. He said one of the two suspects, alighted from the motorcycle, threatened him with a .45 caliber pistol and declared a hold-up.

Española said the suspect took his brown bag where the money was placed, boarded the motorcycle and fled with his companion towards the southern portion of Hilado Street.

Dejucos said that he believes the suspects had studied the routine of Española and tailed him from Isabela until he reached Bacolod City to withdraw the money.

Dejucos added Española said he can identify the suspects if he sees them again.

Case investigator Police Officer 1 Leomel Guinanao will seek help from the National Bureau of Investigation for the generation of the suspects’ facial sketches.*APN
