Binay, Trillanes
Bacolod’s guests

BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Vice President Jejomar Binay and Senator Antonio Trillanes IV will be guests of honor and speaker during the 74th Charter Day anniversary celebration and the 114th Independence Day celebration in Bacolod City, respectively next month.

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia, in a phone interview yesterday, said their appointment secretaries have confirmed to him that they are coming for the celebration.

The Bacolod City government has scheduled several activities for the celebration of Independence Day on June 12 up to the Charter Day celebration on June 18.

Leonardia said Councilor Em Ang is the chairman of both activities.

Meanwhile, Leonardia left for the United States last night for the welterweight championship bout of Philippine ring icon Manny Pacquiao against Timothy Ray Bradley on June 9 (June 10 in the Philippines).

Leonardia said the city government will provide live coverage of the fight in strategic barangays in Bacolod City.*CGS
