The 3-day “Diskwento Caravan” of the Department of Trade and Industry opened yesterday at the Bacolod City Government Center after a 7:30 a.m. parade that was participated in by the distributors and manufacturers.
The parade started at the BCGC and passed through the three major markets in Bacolod City, Burgos Market, Central Market, and Libertad Market and ended at the canteen of the government center where different products are being sold at discounted prices.
Joining the Diskwento Caravan are local and national manufacturers and distributors such as Ceres Pasalubong, Tide, Pantene, Ariel, CDO, Pepsi, Alaska, Nestle, and Lotte among others, while the 303rd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority are providing free massage. The army is also providing free haircut.
The Diskwento Caravan is open from 10 a.m to 7 p.m until tomorrow and buyers can avail of products sold at prices 10 percent lower than the suggested retail price. These include groceries, school supplies, fresh and processed foods, health and wellness products, the release said.
Meanwhile, Maximino Ravena, chief of the Business Regulation and Consumer Welfare Division in Negros, thanked everyone for their active participation in the caravan.* back
