Society wins awards
The Canlaon Medical Society of Negros Occidental, led by Dr. Roberto Salvador, won several awards during the 105th Philippine Medical Association annual convention at the Edsa Shangrila Hotel in Mandaluyong City, recently, a press release from the group said.
Salvador received the Testimonial of Merit for his leadership, and the Testimonial of Recognition to the Component Society for the complete progress report of the group, the press release also said.
It also won the PMA award for Most Outstanding Adopt-a-Barangay project, and the Most Outstanding Active Component Society in Child Advocacy, while Dr. Evelyn Yu was awarded as the Most Outstanding Physician of Canlaon Medical Society, the press release added.*

Environment forum today
The Center for Environmental Initiatives will hold its 38th Environment Forum at 1:30 p.m. today at the Governor’s Conference Hall, Provincial Capitol Building in Bacolod City, a government press release said.
The forum will focus on the “State of the Negros Environment” and its various ecosystems. Mineral regulation and exploitation will also be presented by officials from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Environmental Management Bureau, and their local counterparts from the provincial government, the press release added.* back to top
