Love at first sight

It was love at first sight when Captain Jeffrey Gayoso met a young and beautiful lady who was taking her Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination in Manila.

The future nurse, Nelly Lamason, became a devoted and loving wife and the mother of his three children.

Twenty-five years later, the couple reaffirmed their love and commitment in front of God as they celebrated their silver wedding anniversary in Iloilo City. It was a memorable celebration attended by the family, relatives and those close to the hearts of the couple.

Hundreds of residents from Barangay 19, Bacolod City, recently benefited from a food and relief outreach program of PLDT, headed by vice president Jesus Tanedo and Community Relations head, Evelyn del Rosario, who both flew in from Manila.

Coordinating the activity was Bacolod manager Renato Santillan, with Eden Visa, Cristi Garcia, Malou Bermeo and Armel Malijan. The indigent residents gathered at the PLDT Bacolod Office and were treated to bowls of hot porridge with egg, sandwiches and juices. They also received bags filled with rice, canned goods, noodles, coffee, sugar, juice and biscuits.

The Malogo Aggregate Ventures Inc. recently spearheaded a massive tree planting activity at the old river course Aliputos in the boundary of Silay City and EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.

About 1,500 fruit-bearing and forest tree species, like mango, langka, pomelo, rambutan and red lauan were planted within the nine-hectare lot. The activity was participated in by Brgy. Captains Roberto Jocson of Nanca and Larry Sumpay of Alacaygan, EB Magalona, MAVI plant manager Joseph Flanco and Community Relations officer Carmelie Abellar. Malogo Aggregate Ventures is a processed sand and gravel supplier in the region.*
