Withdrawal claims
all lies: Gasataya
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Greg Gasataya, former Bacolod City three-termer councilor and Water District director, said yesterday that the text messages being circulated that he is withdrawing from the vice mayoralty race are baseless, and misleading, and are lies meant to destroy his candidacy.

In an interview over DYRL, Gasataya said there is no truth to the reports since he has no plans to withdraw and has not entertained the idea of withdrawing his certificate of candidacy for vice mayor of the Nationalist People's Coalition Grupo Progreso.

He also said their political opponents seem to be employing dirty tricks too early. They also did a similar thing to mayoralty candidate Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, and now, they are doing it to him, he said.

“They want to mislead our supporters and project that things are not going well with our campaign,” Gasataya said.

But, he said that as they go around the city, their group, the Grupo Progreso has been very well received by the people especially.

Gasataya also clarified that there is no problem regarding his relationship with Councilors Al Victor Espino, Dindo Ramos, Roberto Rojas and Homer Bais.

He said he was with Rojas last week.

Asked about his chances, Gasataya said he believes that election is not about money, but about principles, programs, track record, and what they can offer to the people.

He said that, with the support of the NPC, they have so much to offer the people of Bacolod City.*CGS
