Barangays to help
implement ‘plastics law’

The Liga ng mga Barangay in Bacolod City will help in the implementation of City Ordinance 562 or the Plastic Regulation Ordinance in the barangays, Bacolod Councilor Mona Dia Jardin, president of the Association of Barangay Captains in Bacolod City said yesterday.

Jardin, said this will help reduce the volume of garbage being dumped at the open dumpsite and sanitary landfill in Brgy. Felisa.

A big volume of the garbage being dumped there consists of plastic, she said.

Jardin said she is supporting the ordinance and will coordinate with its principal author, Councilor Em Legaspi-Ang in the activities and procedures for its implementation.

Ang, earlier said the preparations for the actual implementation of City Ordinance No. 562 on November 23 are already set.

CLO Enforcement Team head Cesar Beloria, meanwhile, said they will conduct a massive information campaign to announce the implementation of the Plastic Regulation Ordinance.*CGS
