Music festival slated
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

A music festival featuring OPM Bands from Manila and Bacolod will be held November 9 at the St. Paul College, and Nov. 10 at Rizal Boulevard, both in Dumaguete City.

Titled “Dagsa”, the festival will be participated in by the group of composer Ryan Cayabyab, contemporary OPM bands, and stars like Rico Blanco, Grupo Tribali, Tropical Depression, Sandwitch, Pedicab, Quest, and Great Soul, among others, in coordination with Video Republic and Tao Corporation of Jun Jun Sy.

City Tourism officer Woodrow Maquiling Jr. said the whole stretch of Rizal Boulevard will be closed to traffic, from La Residencia going south, and a stage will be set up in the center for the performers.

Maquiling said this is going to be a real street party and the concept is for people to converge with performers from Manila, get together, have fun and spend the night with original Pilipino music. He added that the activity is a teaser for the bigger Dagsa festival next year.*JG
