‘Botika ng Bayan’ eyed

An ordinance establishing the Botika ng Bayan under the socio-economic enterprise unit of the Bacolod City government, was passed on third and final reading yesterday by the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod.

The ordinance, authored by Councilor El Cid Familiaran and co-authored by Councilor Catalino Alisbo, said that following its constitutional mandate, Bacolod will establish a health program which will be known asthe “Botika ng Bayan”.

The pharmacy will be put up at the Bacolod City Health Office compound, the ordinance said.

The ordinance aims to provide a system of refund or discount for senior citizens and Philhealth cardholders and their beneficiaries who are admitted or confined at public or private hospitals.

The program will also feature a Partner Pharmacy Scheme, the ordinance said.*CGS
