GILBERT BAYORAN

The Nationalist People’s Coalition party has withdrawn its nomination of Rep. Jeffrey Ferrer as its official congressional candidate in the fourth district of Negros Occidental, in the 2013 elections.

NPC president Frisco San Juan recently issued a certificate of withdrawal of the nomination of Ferrer as the party candidate for a congressional position in the fourth district, a copy of which was submitted yesterday to the provincial Comelec office in Bacolod City.

San Juan, however, did not state any reason for the withdrawal of the nomination of Ferrer, who would be on his third term as 4th district congressman, should he win in the election next year.moremoremore

for falsely claiming project
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. yesterday chided Rep. Julio Ledesma IV for claiming that the road concreting project in the hinterlands of Toboso, Negros Occidental, which is about to be started by the Army’s 542nd Engineering Construction Battalion, is a nationally-funded project.

Marañon, who led the groundbreaking for the 2.5-kilometer Polopangyan-Pasto-Salvacion road concreting project in Brgy. Bug-ang, Toboso, said the presence of the congressman was not even felt or seen in this area.

He clarified that the road concreting project is funded by the provincial government, and not by the congressman.moremoremore
