NOLITC vying for
eGov National Awards

The Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center will compete with other regional winners for the eGov National Awards today in Clark, Pampanga, a press release from the Capitol said.

NOLITC, the official entry of Negros Occidental, won the 1st eGov Awards Visayas for Best in eGOV Customer Empowerment Category recently.

The award is a project of the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines with the support of the Department of Interior and Local Government and the Cyber City Teleservices Philippines. It is a strategic program to recognize, reward and showcase the pioneering ICT initiatives of local government units, the press release also said.

The G2C category recognizes the measurable effect of LGU practices in applying ICT solutions in education and the engagement of the public in the use of electronic facilities/channels, the press release said.

Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. said he was pleased with the award because it further boosts the provincial government’s agenda for ICT utilization in the countryside, and he is hoping that NOLITC will win as well in the national category, the press release added.*
