power outages

Brownouts again.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines and Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. will conduct line maintenance activities Sunday, a press release from CENECO said.

NGCP will shut down the 100MVA Power Transformer 1 at Mansilingan, Bacolod Substation from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. to transfer cables from existing Bay Control Unit panels to NARI BCU panels.

CENECO, on the other hand, will simultaneously conduct a preventive maintenance schedule of 100MVA power transformer at Burgos substation in Burgos Street, Bacolod City.

The activities will affect areas in Silay, Talisay, Bacolod, and Bago cities. Normal operations will immediately resume after completion of the activities, it added.

Electricity consumers are reminded that in the event of any power interruption, electrical switch/es should be turned-off for safety reasons. When electricity supply resumes, the must provide allowance of about 10-15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge.
