Cock farm worker arrested
For killing co-worker: PNP

Station 5 policemen arrested a cock farm worker for allegedly killing his coworker for still unknown reasons, in Brgy. Alangilan, Bacolod City Wednesday.

Senior Insp. Richie Gohee, Station 5 chief, identified the suspect as Gerry Arcoseba, 36, of Brgy. Kawayan in Southern Leyte and caretaker of the cock farm in Purok 12, Brgy. Alangilan.

Gohee said the victim, Eduardo Claro, 26, of Brgy. Taloc, Bago City, Negros Occidental, was found lying on his back and bathed in his blood at a road in Sitio Cabutungan, Brgy, Alangilan by a resident identified as Rodolfo Longno, 60, who reported the incident to the police.

He said Claro had succumbed to stab wounds on his chest and back, and a branch of a madre de cacao tree with traces of blood on it was recovered from the area where his body was found.

Investigation showed that Claro and Arcoseba were having drinks at the cock farm with their companions Stephen Bacornay, Armando Remada, and two other men, whose names were not given, when a black-out occurred, prompting the suspect and the victim to leave.

Minutes later, Arcoseba came back alone, and his shirt and hands were noted to have bloodstains. He revealed that he had killed Claro, Gohee said.

Policemen recovered the basketball shorts and the bloodstained T-shirt of Arcoseba at his temporary house inside the cock farm, Gohee added.

Murder charges has already been filed against Arcoseba before the Bacolod City Prosecutor’s Office yesterday.*APN

Woman killed in
road mishap known

The old woman who was killed when she was sideswiped by a van in Brgy. Pahanocoy, Bacolod City Monday, has been identified by her relatives.

Senior Police Officer 1 Dennis Perma, chief investigator of the Bacolod City Police Traffic Management Unit, said the family of Patricia Navarro, 96, of Purok Paghidaet, Brgy. 29, said they had been looking for her since she left their house on the day of the accident.

Perma said Navarro’s family told the police that they do not allow her to go out of their house because she was suffering from Alzheimer's disease.

He said they, however, asked her family to show proof that they are indeed her relatives before her body is released to them.

Investigation conducted by Police Officer 2 Orlando Caporal showed that the Kia van, driven by Joseph Diamante, 45, of Brgy. Punta Taytay, Bacolod was heading south of Araneta Street in Purok Maninihon, Pahanocoy, when his vehicle sideswiped Navarro.

Diamante surrendered to Police Station 9 in Brgy. Sum-ag and was later turned over to Police Station 8 in Brgy. Tangub.*APN
