10 cops undergo drug tests
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

A random drug test was conducted yesterday on 10 policemen participating in the search and rescue training being conducted by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The drug test was done on complaint of a resident that a policeman from the north is a shabu user.

Deputy provincial director for operations, Supt. Alet Virtucio, said the policeman being complained about is a participant of the training. If found positive, confirmatory tests will be conducted on the policeman, followed by administrative and summary proceedings, he added.

Three policemen had been dismissed from service for illegal drugs use, one from the Dumaguete police and two from the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force, Virtucio said.*JG
