The son of a former member of the board of directors of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative died in a hospital Saturday a few minutes after his motorcycle figured in an accident in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Police identified the casualty as Christian Fuentespina, 31, of JJ Gonzaga Subdivision, Bacolod City.
Fuentespina, employed as Consumer Services Coordinator of CENECO, was the son of Perlito Fuentespina.
The younger Fuentespina was rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Hospital, where he died, a police record showed.
Investigation conducted by Police Officer 3 Orlando Caporal showed that Christian Fuentespina was heading west of Mansilingan road, that is under repair, on his Kawasaki Fury motorcycle at about 11:40 p.m. Friday when he hit the signage of the Department of Public Works and Highway.
Caporal said in a television interview that the younger Fuentespina may have failed to notice the signage immediately because the area was not well lighted as the street light was not functioning.
Christian’s remains are now at the Rolling Hills Memorial Chapels in Brgy. Mandalagan while his family is waiting for the arrival of his wife from Saudi Arabia, where she works as a nurse, before deciding on the date of the interment.
Records from the Bacolod City Traffic Management Unit show that there have been 48 deaths from road accidents since January, 22 of them motorcycle-related.*APN back
