The Philippine National Police yesterday included 126 of the 600 barangays in Negros Occidental in its Elections Watchlist, in relations to the 2013 polls.

Two barangays in Bacolod City were also classified as election hotspots, police records show.

Senior Supt. Manuel Felix, deputy regional director for Administration, yesterday reported an increase of election hotspots in Western Visayas by 49, compared to previous elections, because of the new criteria set by Camp Crame.moremoremore

May Klaire Parparan, of Isabela, Negros Occidental, who was born with a cleft lip, as a child, had dreamt of becoming a nurse.

She had been raised with a lot of love so she felt special despite her deformity, until one day when she was 7 years old, a teenager asked: “How can you become a nurse, nurses are beautiful, you’re different?”

“That was when I realized that I was not like others, I had a deformity. My world fell apart, I lost my dream, there did not seem to be a future for me,” May Klaire said yesterday.moremoremore

That is what Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said about rumors that

he is forming an alliance with other groups outside of the Nationalist People’s Coalition-Grupo Progreso.

Leonardia said it is very clear that, as far as Grupo Progreso is concerned, they have no problem with each other.moremoremore
